The European Youth Award (EYA) is a pan-European contest to motivate young students, social entrepreneurs, and start-ups to produce socially-valuable digital projects (websites, apps) addressing the goals defined by the Council of Europe and the strategy Europe 2020. EYA is conducted under the patronage of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and UNIDO.
EYA also runs a Student Online Project in Autumn (Oct-Nov) and makes international students work together virtually using platforms like google hangouts, microsoft yammer etc. Their task is to review, critique, and present ideas about the EYA winning projects.
In this day in age, most students are eager to gain skills in intercultural communication during their studies. By participating in the EYA Student Online Project, this gives students the opportunity to not only show off their own unique ideas, but also gives them the chance to connect with numerous international individuals that are interested in ICT developments, business, and media technology just like themselves.
At the moment EYA is searching for professors and lecturers who are interested to offer the hands–on opportunity to highly motivated students.
Participants of the Student Online Project may also attend the EYA winners event (EYA Festival). This is an exciting three day event taking place in Graz, Austria from November 18th through 21st. As Student Online Project Participants, you and your team of students are invited to participate in the educational workshops and hear from our outstanding speakers as well as present your online projects to an international audience. This conference is an established platform for international knowledge-exchange and networking event for future cooperation.
