Informational session of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program
Futuralia Conference at 11:00 on Friday, March 16

The US J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program promotes mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries across twelve different categories of educational and cultural exchanges.

Would your students be interested in working or studying in the US on a short term cultural exchange? If so, please join representatives from the US Embassy and Department of State for an informational session of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program at the Futuralia Conference at 11:00 on Friday, March 16.

Meeting point: EducationUSA Booth 1A22 at 10:50am

Historically, Portuguese nationals have had low participation in the Exchange Visitor Program compared to their European neighbors, especially in the Summer Work and Travel Program which allows students to work in the US for a few months between semesters and enhance their cultural knowledge of the US. The US embassy and the J-1 Program Headquarters in Washington, DC are sending representatives to Futuralia to expand our efforts to promote J-1s in Portugal. Please see the website below for more information about Summer Work and Travel and the J-1 program more generally.
